FAE PUBLICATION ON PANTAMIGATE: COLOSSAL REDUCTION OF TRUST, A PERCEPTIVE ABUSE OF GREY HAIR AND DISLOCATION OF AUTHORITY – MISCARRIAGE OF WISDOM INTENSELY NEEDED
Series 1
It is unheard off and in fact a miscarriage of wisdom
- that a man’s house will be on fire, and he will be busy chasing rats.
It is even more saddening that delayed gratification
expected of an elder will be palpitated with unholy and
inordinate craving for the “indirect quest to install interest” capable
of being misinterpreted as “quest to needs of the stomach”. Some
of us were wholly enthused that the grey headed segment of our great alma mater
was going to meaningfully engage the management in a round table, with intent
of concrete status-quo on operation gone wrong, with a clear and direct counsel
to the management on how to salvage the situation not acceptable to the alumni
community.
How on earth, will this rare segment of our Alumni, presumed
and expected to be gifted with wisdom, in the face of National debasement,
brought to her alma matter by actions of the management, publicly
fingered externally, as failing below trusted quality, throw caution to the
wind, go into partying with the publicly criticized management - without
quizzing out the level of their involvement in the Saga or offering
her a single elderly wise counsel, rather provided her with funds that could be
misconceived as a support to “ public and media shut up” attempt, even if
intended for usual good will of the institution. Couldn’t it have waited until
convincing evidence is obtained from the University management on the level of
their involvement?
A sound mind will be wondering, are these our elders
providing this fund for the Management to continue development in our alma
mater with her satisfactory prayers before the court pressuring ASUU to
accept her decision or what exactly is the prayer of the
management or ground to which these elders approve them to continue a court
case?
what is the basis of the so acclaimed, and respected elders
of FAA - approving the University management to proceed on a court case? going
ahead to comically (if you like) raise fund for the VC to continue development
or pressure the ASUU towards bowing to their alleged wrongdoing (because court
cases in Nigeria doesn’t come through without cost), under head cover of legal
sub judice. These our last hope of elders, withheld the objective
privilege of the round table meeting – ascertaining base and concrete
correctness of level of involvement of their age mate who fortunately
doubles as the VC at the isle of the matter. We the graduates are wondering,
were they attempting to support their own, protect an interest or restore our
collapsing as well as allocating a space for befitting secretariat of the
alumni in the press media?
To be continued in Series 2.
